Travel Form
If you’re leaving the UK with medicine that contains a controlled drug you should be able to prove it’s yours with either a prescription or letter from your clinic. Other countries have their own import laws for prescription medicine and controlled drugs.
Please visit the relevant government website for your destination to verify the travel requirements before requesting a travel letter. If you're traveling within the next 48 hours and have already reviewed the destination's requirements, contact us and we'll expedite the processing of your request. Please only submit your request within 1 week before departure.
You could get a fine or go to prison if you travel with medicine that is illegal in another country. Email dflu.ie@homeoffice.gov.uk for more advice on leaving the UK with controlled drugs.
